Team Trident secured a front-row lockout for the Sprint Race tomorrow, a top result for the Italian squad. The four-car operation ended an extremely difficult Feature Race in the points zone.

Team Trident can celebrate a positive balance at the end of the Feature Race held by the GP3 Series at Silverstone, home to the fourth round of the 2018 series. All the cars fielded by the Italian team have ended up in the points zone, showcasing great race pace. New York-based 24-year-old racer Ryan Tveter finished a high-level race in the fourth position. He made no mistakes and scored the best result of the season after setting the fifth fastest lap time in qualifying. Giuliano Alesi, who started from P3 on the grid, lost positions in the early stages of the race. The nineteen-year-old from Avignon maintained great focus and climbed up to P8, which will allow him to start from pole position in tomorrow’s Sprint Race. Next to the French driver, wearing the Ferrari Driver Academy colors will be 19 years old Pedro Piquet. The son of the three-time world champion Nelson Piquet recovered well from the sixth row on the grid up to seventh place. The Brazilian damaged his front wing after a rival who defended the sixth position from his attacks closed the door abruptly. Alessio Lorandi stalled at the start, only to recover from the last position to the points zone. The Italian showed a good race pace, but he paid a high price for the mistake at the start. Now the Team Trident men will analyze the data collected in today’s race in preparation for the Sprint Race. There will be a historic, all-Trident front row.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager:

“It was an extremely hard-fought Feature Race, in which our drivers made some mistakes that cost us a podium position. Unfortunately, Alessio Lorandi and Giuliano Alesi had some difficulties at the start and could not defend their great qualifying positions. I’m satisfied with the fourth position the ever-convincing Ryan Tveter, as well as with the seventh position claimed by Pedro Piquet. He will share the front row in the Sprint Race with Alesi, who managed to put together a remarkable comeback “.
